The Bode Technology Group, located in Springfield, Va., is the largest forensic DNA company in the United States. The core business is in three areas: Forensic DNA casework. DNA analysis of convicted offender samples. DNA identification research and development. Thomas J. Bode, Sr. and Dr. Kevin C. McElfresh founded the company in April 1995. The company has experienced healthy growth each year and has a staff of 65 examiners, research personnel, support staff and administrators.
In April of 2001, The Bode Technology Group was acquired by ChoicePoint (www.choicepoint.net), the leading provider of identification and credential verification services.
The Bode Technology Group is focused on DNA forensics and identification. We currently complete more than 3,000 forensic cases per year and we provide expert witness testimony when requested.
Another major area of work at The Bode Technology Group involves sexual assault cases. The Bode Technology Group currently analyzes sexual assault kits from police departments across the United States, and has been a pioneer in the development of methods to maintain quality while handling high throughput forensic casework requests.
The Bode Technology Group has provided convicted offender databanking services to state and federal agencies. In doing so, our laboratory has helped eliminate significant backlogs in many states, while providing DNA profiles for more than 300,000 samples over the past four years. In 2001, The Bode Technology Group analyzed more than 120,000 convicted offender samples. |
